A Week of No Stitching

Between work and being at school four nights, stitching just didn't happen this week. I'll be traveling again today and tomorrow, so I'll take a small project in case I do get a chance to pull it out for a little while. I don't want to take And They Sinned; it's not particularly travel friendly and especially not for a plane. And Hunt Sampler is stitched on 40 count and I don't know that I'll have access to sufficient light to work on that. So I'll take the little biscornu freebie that I've been working on. Here's a progress pic:

The finished bit on the right is the bottom/back, depending on how you look at your biscornus (biscorni?) I'll probably stick my initials and the date somewhere in the big empty center section. I've got about six or 8 stitches in the top/front, there on the left. I wanted to get it started just enough so it would be started, if that makes sense!

I also have a couple of books and the new Bookpage (picked up at the library this morning) in case the stars aren't in alignment for stitching :-)

A number of years ago, when I was an ticket agent for the airline I worked for, I checked in a young lady on a Saturday afternoon. I don't remember where she was going, but I do remember that she was returning on Sunday, the next day. For this less-than-24-hour journey, she had three -- count 'em, three -- large suitcases. I'm sure there was a very good reason why she had all this luggage, but at the time I was just amazed that someone could be going somewhere for less than 24 hours with 3 suitcases. I don't know that I'm a whole lot better; I'm traveling with one carry-on bag and a purse, but I'm taking two books, a magazine and a stitching project. Like I think I'm going to have time for any of it!
