Just Stitching

It's been a pretty good week from a stitching standpoint. I didn't get a lot of stitching done, but I did finally get a chart that I've been drooling over for a long time. It's The Embroideress Sampler, by Jane Greenoff, and the colors in it are gorgeous. The scan doesn't nearly do it justice.

I also sat down the other evening and organized the threads for a kit that I bought several years ago after seeing the piece stitched in a show at the LNS. It's called the Lost Gardens of Heligan, designed by Thea Gouverneur, and it's another one with beautiful colors.

The threads were sorted onto cards in the kit, but I looped them through the holes a little more securely. The kit came with 18 ct. aida, but I switched it out for a piece of 40 ct. linen from Lakeside. I forget what color at the moment, but I'm thinking it's Magnolia.

Tonight was Saturday Night Stitching and I had planned on pulling out either And They Sinned or Hunt Sampler, but during a spot of organizing last night I discovered a WIP that I hadn't stitched on in quite a while. It's called Little Paradise Sampler, and it's from a back issue of SANQ. I started it in 2007 and really only put in a few stitches; here's where I left off:
I'll try to get a better shot of the picture in the magazine so you can get an idea of just how pretty it is. The fibers are Thread Gatherer silks and they are just yummy! Have a look:
I had a phone call from my sweetie so I didn't make as much progress as I had hoped (I'd rather have had the phone call anyway!), but here's how it looked when I put it away for the evening:
It's a little dark, but you can get an idea of the colors. The letters are in "Desert Sage" and the green border is "Maidenhair Fern."
'
Sunday is my And They Sinned day. My goal for tomorrow is to finish the lettering on the bottom, except for the completion date. We'll see how I do!

You do like projects of the BAP variety don't you!

What issue of SANQ is Paradise from? I may just have to add that to my ever growing list of things to stitch.
