It's been a most vexing 24 hours. My computer decided to have a major brain fart last night, so I was up late dealing with it and have spent a significant chunk of my day today working on getting it sorted out. It was one of those deals where I re-booted the computer to complete the installation of a McAfee update but the computer wouldn't restart because a config file was "missing or corrupted." So I had to re-install Windows, which of course wreaked havoc with everything on the hard drive; I didn't lose anything permanently because the re-install process backed up the files, but I did lose stuff in the sense that now I don't know where the heck it is. I'm convinced that the McAfee installation caused the problem; I hate McAfee. I've heard that Macintosh computers don't need anti-virus programs. Is that the case, does anyone know?
On a happier note, I've been getting in some stitching. I worked on Little Paradise this afternoon and here's where I am with it:
I didn't finish the date because, while I feel fairly confident that I should be able to finish this thing in this decade, I didn't want to commit myself to getting it finished this year! The alphabet and the date are Smyrna crosses stitched over 4 threads with 1 strand of silk and I'm totally glad to be done with them except for one more number.
I've also been working on Spring Sampler and finished the top border:
Wishing everyone a great weekend and happy stitching!

Lovely WIP! McAfee probably caused your problem, my boys (who are way more computer literate than me) advised me not to use McAfee because is causes so many problems. I use AVG on my laptop.
Love your WIPs! Very pretty! I don't want to mislead you -- Macs don't need antivirus software. But. Recently there have been malware problems for the first time. So hopefully Macs will continue to not need antivirus software, but you never know. lol! Macs, at the moment, don't get viruses, but apparently are getting malware. Same difference to me! (And I'm not that computer literate so I might even be calling things by the wrong name!)
