Ahhh, Sundays!

Another peaceful Sunday, today with no snow but a little bit of melting of what is there! I did knock some more ice off the stoop; I can can now get the front door open, so I'll count that as good progress. The cats spent the day snoozing and I did a few leftover chores before I sat down this afternoon with Moon Garden. I finished the green -- well, I guess it's a stem. And it's not exactly accurate that I finished it because there's more further down the chart, but I did get it to meet up with the flower and everything lined up, woohoo! The alphabet starts down the left side and I put in the A before I pulled out an ornament to work on for a few minutes. I didn't take a pic of it because I only have about 5 rows of stitching done and it doesn't look like anything yet. Once it begins taking shape, I'll get a picture and post it.

One certain thing about Sundays is that they are always followed by Mondays. Have a great week and I shall try to do the same!

Moon Garden

This has been my Sunday afternoon stitching:

I pulled it out of the WIP basket last week. It's been a couple of years since I started it and today I've been working on the purple center of the the flower. I'm using the called-for GAST fibers on 36 count "Tundra" from Lakeside; I'm stitching with just one strand of floss, so between that and the light color fabric, the colors don't pop like they do on the model. I think that's part of why I haven't stitched on it for a while, but now that I've picked it up again I've decided that I really like the more muted effect. My plan is to concentrate on this piece and get it finished before I start anything new -- aside from a new ornament!

Stay warm!
