Saturday Night and Not Much Going On

So I'm sitting here, letting the color soak into my hair and thinking that I should post something on the blog, but thinking that I don't have much to post. My internship started this week and I realized very quickly that it's going to consume 3-4 nights each week. I have to have 160 hours in 11 weeks, which comes to about 14.5 hours per week. I don't think I'm going to get a lot of stitching or reading done for the next 2 -1/2 months.

I did some errands this morning and hit a few yard sales in a local sub-division. I missed a pair of old white wicker porch chairs by just a few minutes; they had just been sold when I got there. Darn! Some white spray paint and flowered cushions and they would have been perfect for my deck. Double darn.

I got in a little bit of stitching on And They Sinned tonight and made a little bit of progress on the grass. I hope to work on it some more tomorrow and will plan to post a picture. In the meantime, I'll leave you with a picture of Miss Mimi. If she looks a little sleepy, it's because she was napping when I decided to take her picture and I woke her up -- not deliberately, but woke her all the same.

A New Member of the Family

This is Mimi. She's been with us a little over two weeks; as you can see, she's an orange tabby with a very pretty face :-) Mimi is 10 years old and her owner was an elderly lady who had to go to an assisted living facility. She could have taken Mimi with her but she was afraid that she couldn't care for her properly, so her daughter set about finding a new home for the kitty. I know that older cats are very hard to place from shelters -- everybody wants kittens -- so I said we would give things a try. So far it's going well; Mimi seems to have adapted better than I ever dreamed she would, and she and Timothy get along fairly well. Most of the time. She's still learning that some places are off limits for kitties, but those things will just take time.
