I had a bit of oral surgery last week -- nothing serious but enough that I was sedated with a combination of nitrous oxide and really good drugs. I remember very little of the procedure and not much more of the drive home, and when we did get home, I took off my sneakers and headed straight for the couch, and asked DH to bring me a particular quilt to lay under. It's a quilt that's been in my family since I was a little girl, if not before. I'm not sure who made it, but I think it was one of my grandmothers. Over the years, it's become my "comfort quilt". If I'm sick or feeling bad or just feeling kind of down, I feel better just curling up under that quilt.

Do you have a Roy Rogers restaurant where you live? There's one not far from our house and DH and I go there occasionally. If you are close to a Roy Rogers and if you like Nutella, you must try one of their Nutella shakes. Oh my goodness, they are decadent! I had tried one back in the summer and loved it. I don't think it is actually posted on the menu; you might have to ask for it. Sooooo good!

What are you reading these days? I've got a couple of books going; I'm reading Rome 1960, by David Maraniss, and Death of an Old Git, by Andrea Frazer. The second is a mystery, but the first is a book about the 1960 Olympics in Rome, the Olympics of Wilma Rudolph and Cassius Clay before he was Muhammed Ali. I'm not quite to page 100, but so far it's really interesting. Maraniss also wrote an excellent biography of Roberto Clemente, which I highly recommend. The Rome book is a "real" book and is a little heavy for reading in bed, so I'm reading Death of an Old Git on the Kindle. I bought the Kindle with the notion that I would mostly use it for traveling, but it's great for bed-time reading also.

Our weekend is supposed to be warm but rainy. Sounds like good stitching weather to me! Happy stitching to everyone!

Love those comfort type of quilts and blankets! Ooohhhh....Nutella Shake!?! I'll have to try and make one of those here at home! I am assuming just use the Nutella in place of chocolate ~ or is it in addition to the chocolate?
Hope you are recovering from your oral surgery -- comfort quilts are good things. The Nutella shake sounds scrumptious!
I hope you have fully recovered and everything is fine with you again.
