May SBQ

Lee over at Lake Stitcher posed this question this month:

What's your favorite floral piece that you've stitched? Do you prefer your flowers as the centerpiece of the design or as an accent?
I have a good few florals in my stitched-but-not-framed box, but not many are actually framed and on the wall.  When I read Lee's question, this one was the first to come to mind.  I like it not so much for the flowers but for the cat; the reason I stitched this piece was because the cat reminded me of our Inky, a family cat we had back in the 80s and 90s.  She was squirrelly and scared of her own shadow, she had one white whisker when she was young, and she had a litter of kittens under my sister's bed.  She was a good cat.

I have no clue who the designer is but this is stitched on linen with DMC floss and the date on it is 1988.  Inky has been gone for several years, but I think of her whenever I look at this piece.

I don't think I really have a preference as to whether the flowers are the centerpiece of the design or whether they accent something else as in this picture.  It depends more on the complete design.

Wishing everyone a happy Mother's Day this weekend!

Happy stitching!

That is a sweet design and a wonderful way to remember your Inky too.
