We took a quick trip to Cape Cod last week, just 3 days, but we had a fantastic time. But first....Earth Sampler is finished!
A couple of folks had asked about the designer; it's from Primitive Needle (Lisa Roswell). I stitched it on 40-count navy bean from Lakeside and used the called for Weeks and GAST fibers (well, except in a couple of places where I had dye lot issues or didn't have the color and substituted).
One of the places we went on Cape Cod was the JFK museum in Hyannis. It focuses on his life there; this statue is in front of the museum.
Okay, I have no idea how the heck I moved that picture to the left, but it's easier to leave it there than to figure out how to get it back. Anyway...
This bush is outside the museum. I thought it was pretty, although I don't know what it is. Does anyone?
The lighthouse at Chatham. It was a dreary, rainy afternoon and the light was on. You may have to make it bigger to see the actual light.
The Pilgrims went ashore at what is now Provincetown before they landed at Plymouth, and there's a monument:
You can climb to the top (not the tip-top, but still way-the-heck up there), so of course we did. I didn't think I would be able to but it's mostly ramps and was easier than I expected. We made it and got stickers!
The Atlantic Ocean near Cape Cod Light, not far from Provincetown. It was windy and foggy that day and you can see how rough the surf is.
I got a little crazy taking pictures of food and I won't post them all, but I had to show you these. We stopped at Falmouth on our way off the Cape and had lunch at a place called the Flying Bridge. I had stuffed quahog, which wasn't very big but was plenty with a salad and was absolutely delicious!
The mother of all seafood platters:
There were two ginormous butterfly shrimp on there, scallops, clams, a couple of pieces of fish and I think oysters. I helped him with a little bit of it :-)It was a great time, crummy weather not withstanding, and it's off-season so it wasn't crowded. Much fun!

Oh lucky you to go to Cape Cod! I'd go just for the seafood. lol! Lovely pics of the area. And I love your PN finish too! Beautiful! I wish I could go to the ocean right now -- Cape Cod, Maine, somewhere up there....
Oooo, obviously we're going to have to try the Flying Bridge the next time I go to the Cape. As for the bush, I'll ask my mom next time I'm home. She's got them too--but I have no idea what they are! And after seeing the rough surf around PTown (not to mention the wind), it certainly makes you understand why the Pilgrims moved on. Lovely sampler finish!
